Talent headshots: Think of styling for different character looks that reflect your personality. Accessories can be distracting, therefore are not recommended.

All other headshot types: Bring different wardrobe options to choose from considering the number of outfit looks included in your collection. Accessories are optional.

Portraits: Choose colors that compliment your skin or background set tones if a preview is available. Family portraits-color coordinate to grasp a more eye-catching look.

I believe a Headshots should make you stand out. Industry professionals want to see talent look authentic in their headshots, so minimal and natural makeup works best. It is recommended to choose makeup colors without shimmer that compliment your skin tone. Avoid facials the day before your session.

Hair styles for talent headshots; it is recommended to cut and style hair with classic looks (not unique ones ex: mohawk), so the viewer’s eye focus is on you and not your hair style.

Hair styles for professional and corporate headshots are recommended to get a sharp and clean sleek, well combed look.

Modeling headshots can vary depending on fashion styles that compliment wardrobe.

Hair and Makeup for Family and Portraits sessions: Set your hair with product to avoid friz and hair flying. Makeup -Avoid glow and glitter because it reflects with lighting. A matte foundation finish is best.

If you’d like an on-location (non-local area) session, it is possible! On location fees may apply and vary depending on mileage/time distance. The on-location fee covers the photographer and gear transportation. The mileage cost will depend of gas prices to cover the distance traveled round trip. Fee will vary depending on location: Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Rio Grande Valley. These fees only apply if the photographer is not on location already and is requesting to travel. Jess Photography travels frequently.
